The myth of Ancient Greece
It was not easy to escape
Crete because Minos' soldiers kept watch on all of his ships and had come
to offer a reward for the capture of Daedelus. So he constructed
one pair of wings for himself and one pair for Icarus; the larger feathers
were sewn but the smaller feathers were held together with wax. As he placed
the wings on Icarus, he said to him while crying: " My son, be careful,
do not fly too high because the sun will dissolve the wax, nor too low,
because the feathers will become wet from the sea " Then he put his arms
in his own wings and flew away. " Follow me, he shouted to him, and do
not stray."
[...]
Icarus, rejecting his father's
orders, rose and went up towards the sun, very happy to be carried by its
large wings. And, when Daedelus returned, he could no longer see Icarus;
but below him in the sea, feathers floated on the waves. The heat of the
sun had dissolved the wax and Icarus had fallen into the sea and drown.

Ivan Chabanaud's Thoughts
It is rather by its country,
than by interpretation of the spectator that a specific recognition should
be sought. Icarie, the country in which the Baudelairien "Voyage"
takes place, evolves into the area of the soul which plunges us into the
abyss of re-creation, a place nowhere near the labyrinth, where it is necessary
to escape by the flapping of one's wings. There is more than just a simple
simulation implicit in this mode of perception,. There is proof of a pendulum
between dimensions, where glass replaces air. An old brain learns at its
own expense the mystification of meaning. Icarus as soul-seeker,
originating more from this country, is real. Upon take-off, he is no longer
human, he is a device. By nature this apparatus is capable of measuring
infinitesimal action. Elsewhere it would be a robot under the control of
Cartesian judgment. How does one approach this area where elsewhere it
does not have any meaning? A being emerges out of this machinery
which has released itself from gravity. Universal laws become specialized
for this particular circumstance. This voyage goes nowhere except beyond
reality. The rules of the game are dictated by length of cable. Communication
with a system devoid of life, solitary and waiting for stimulation. The
labyrinth has no exit. Movement towards the sun proposes a loss of
one's way in a world of icons. Undoubtedly, images of consciousness
draw their information from the machine. It is in this equipped black space
that walking is possible in the labyrinth. A world where dimensional space
is not controllable by coordination. A space with computed dimensions.
A territory in which no one knows neither the reference points, nor the
laws, takes shape. It would be useless to believe that there is an exit.
As in any exploration, function must be discovered
